Recap of Session 5 November 5, 2014:
Chimera exited the landing pad and quickly saw the approaching landspeeders of the Staltons. They managed to boost one of the parked speeders and headed for the nearby canyons, with hopes of losing pursuit. After a harrowing chase, Chimera lost their pursuers and made their way back to Linara.
After relaying the encounter to Master Aurek, he began to lose his composure, and suggested that maybe this had all been a bad idea. His worry about the level of corruption and the Committee for Renewals involvement has him fearful that the Imperial authorities might be forced to brand them all as criminals. However, the members of Chimera reassure him that they can get the job done…with the right gear. He generously provides explosives, hired mercenaries, and a dropship to the Jedi so they can assault the primary Stalton warehouse.
As these equipment and personnel are gathered, Master Aurek learned that the Stalton’s had discovered more of the CfR’s membership and kidnapped Masters Forn and Cresh. Aurek immediately insisted that the Jedi rescue them during the raid.
Chimera squad devised a battle plan that relied on the hired guns to keep the majority of the Syndicate busy at the gate, while the Jedi dropped in from the ship above the primary warehouse. They hoped to quickly capture or kill Voran Stalton and end the conflict decisively.
Although the battle in the warehouse grounds was intense, the well trained Jedi made easy work of Voran’s guards and security droids inside, even managing to disable the E-Web blaster that was harassing their ground forces outside.
When Voran finally arrived to tangle personally with the Jedi, he brought a number of highly skilled warriors as well. Although a number of Chimera squad were injured in the scrap, they all survived and were able to capture Voran before he could escape.
Delivering the son of the head of the Stalton Syndicate to Master Aurek, the Jedi were confident that the CfR could handle negotiations that would ensure the Syndicate remained off Vonegal for the foreseeable future.
Master Aurek profusely thanked Chimera for their help, and provided the final payment he had promised the Jedi Order. Returning to the fleet, Masters Iskander and Kenobi debriefed the squad, congratulated them on a completed mission, and gave them some well deserved R&R.
